Who we are
Twilight Express Co. operates a digital freight brokerage and dispatch marketplace connecting shippers with FMCSA-verified hotshot and DOT-regulated carriers. This policy describes what information we collect through the site (twilightexpress.co) and mobile-friendly web app, and how it's used.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, and some generated by using the site:
- Account information — email address and password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).
- Company and contact information — company name, MC/DOT number, contact name, phone, email, logo, and website, for carriers who register.
- Truck and equipment information — equipment type, capacity, VIN, make/model/year, and current location (city/state) for trucks a carrier posts.
- Load information — pickup/delivery locations, weight, dimensions, and pricing for loads a shipper posts or requests an Instant Quote for.
- Live GPS location — only for carriers who choose to connect a tracking device to a truck for Control Tower dispatch tracking (via Traccar). This is opt-in per truck; we don't track a vehicle's location otherwise.
- Identity verification data — only if you choose to verify your identity from the Company tab: either a government ID photo and a live selfie, or your name, date of birth, and a national ID number. This is collected and verified directly by Stripe Identity — we receive and store only the verification result (pass/fail and timestamp), never the document image, selfie, or raw ID number itself.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number or bank details; we retain only what Stripe returns to us (a payment status, amount, and a reference ID).
- Support messages — anything you send through the in-app support inbox (Profile → Messages).
How we use it
- To operate the marketplace — matching loads to trucks, processing bookings.
- To verify carrier authority against FMCSA's public registry, and — if you opt in — to verify your identity through Stripe Identity, before allowing certain actions (booking a load, booking a truck, or deleting your account).
- To process payments, subscriptions, and booking fees through Stripe.
- To provide live dispatch tracking, for carriers who've connected a device.
- To send transactional email (booking confirmations, receipts) through Resend.
- To compute routes, mileage, and tolls through HERE Technologies' routing API.
- To generate instant freight rate quotes through WARP's pricing API.
- To power optional AI chat/assistant features on the site, through Anthropic's Claude API — messages you send to these features are processed by Anthropic to generate a response.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above as necessary to operate the site (Stripe for payments/billing/identity, Supabase for authentication and data storage, Resend for email, HERE for routing, Traccar for GPS tracking if you opt in, Anthropic for AI features), with FMCSA/NHTSA's public regulatory APIs to verify carrier authority, and with the other party to a booking (e.g. a carrier's company name and contact info is visible to a shipper once they book, and vice versa) — the same information already shown on a public listing.
How long we keep it
A delivered booking is archived 90 days after delivery (still visible to the carrier and admins in Archive, hidden from the live board), and permanently deleted roughly a year after that if nothing still references it (this window is occasionally adjusted for compliance reasons — see your own Archive tab for the exact current countdown on any specific record). If you delete your account, an already- archived booking keeps a snapshot of your company/contact info as it existed at deletion time — it doesn't disappear or go blank, since that would erase a real shipper or carrier's record of what happened on a completed shipment.
Your choices
- Live GPS tracking is opt-in per truck — don't connect a device if you don't want it.
- Identity verification is opt-in, and only required before specific actions.
- You can delete your account and personal information from the Company tab of your profile at any time (after completing identity verification, so we can confirm the request is really coming from you) — this removes your company, contact, and truck listings, while preserving the minimal record already on any archived bookings.
- For anything else — access requests, corrections, or questions about this policy — reach us through the in-app support inbox (Profile → Messages once signed in). We don't currently publish a separate privacy-request email address.
Children
Twilight Express Co. is a business-to-business freight platform, not directed at or intended for use by children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
